Why use HiveAlive Max Protein Pollen Patty?

HiveAlive Max Protein Pollen Patty is the ultimate solution for beekeepers seeking exceptional results in supplementing colony nutrition.

With its unique formulation and carefully selected ingredients, this pollen patty offers numerous advantages. Feed if:

  • You need to replace pollen during times of dearth
  • You want more brood, more bees & more honey
  • You want the best quality patty with the highest pollen content
  • You want a patty designed for optimum nutrition
  • You want all the benefits of a full dose of HiveAlive in each patty

What is HiveAlive Max Protein Pollen Patty?

Protein patties are frequently fed when bees do not have an adequate supply of pollen or when the beekeeper wants to boost productivity. Pollen is the best source of protein for honeybees which is why we have created a patty with a very high pollen content. Our patties contain 2% real irradiated (to kill any pathogens) pollen. Total protein content = 12%.
To further enhance the nutritional profile of our pollen patty, we added a proprietary blend of additional seaweed nutrients and micronutrients essential for bee health. These extracts enhance the amino acid, lipid and fatty acid, vitamin and mineral profile and also contain, prebiotics, enzymes and phenolic compounds.
We have added a full dose of HiveAlive liquid so now you can get the benefits of HiveAlive in a pollen patty.
The addition of HiveAlive and our high pollen content means that bees prefer these patties and will take them down quickly. This reduces the risk of small hive beetle infestation associated with feeding patties.

When to use HiveAlive Max Protein Pollen Patty?

  • Spring and Fall Supplementation: Boosting hive strength during critical periods of brood rearing and preparation for winter.
  • Colony Building: Supporting the rapid growth of new colonies by providing essential nutrients to stimulate brood development.
  • Periods of dearth: supplement colonies if no access or availability of natural pollen.
  • Pollination Services: Enhancing the health and performance of honeybee colonies engaged in pollination services, maximizing their efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Post-Treatment Recovery: Assisting bee colonies in recovering from stress caused by treatments, such as Varroa mite control or disease management.

For optimal results, ensure there is a carbohydrate source when feeding pollen patties such as nectar or sugar syrup (for an enhanced effect, add HiveAlive to sugar syrup).

How to use HiveAlive Max Protein Pollen Patty?

  • Gently smoke the bees down
  • Place patty directly over frames as close to brood as possible. Ensure the side with perforated paper is placed down so that bees have access to patty through the holes underneath.
  • Repeat as needed.
  • Feed for a minimum of 6 weeks. This ensures sufficient time for the larvae to develop, become workers and raise another generation of young healthy bees. If you remove the pollen too early, while there are no other natural resources, the bees will sense they do not have enough to adequately feed the brood and will cannibalise or remove it.

If you don't use up all your patties in the season you bought them, freezing them will keep them in perfect condition until you need them again.
